The Centre for Integrated Transportation & Mobility (CITM), an integral part of Innovation Factory, introduces the “Smart Mobility R&D Network and Smart City IoT Data Repository”.

Ontario’s first live, multi-site, 5G R&D test network is available to help you design, validate, and advance your smart transportation and mobility products and technologies.

Located in Hamilton, Ontario, a multi-modal transportation corridor city, the Smart Mobility R&D Network and Smart City IoT Data Repository provide an unparalleled, live, real-world environment for start-ups and technology companies to validate and advance their smart transportation and mobility products and technologies including hardware, software, and AI in a wide variety of use-cases.   

The Smart Mobility R&D Network is the result of strategic collaborations led by CITM, and includes the contributions of technology and resources from partners, Nokia, SmartCone, iSmartWays, the City of Hamilton, and the Ministry of Economic Development Job Creation and Trade through its Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Network (AVIN) program.


Richard Dunda – Director, CITM

Richard brings over 30 years of software, hardware, and telecommunications experience in various roles including executive, mentor, consultant, coach, and advisor to Canadian businesses spanning all phases of their evolution. With extensive experience in sales, marketing, product management and strategic development, Richard offers a unique combination of skills, knowledge, and expertise supporting CITM innovators and partners.

Bruno Capouillez – Senior Sales Engineer, Nokia

Bruno has 20+ years of experience with telecom solutions and integration. He focuses on understanding the needs of mission critical networks to recommend and design applications and communications solutions to meet critical business drivers. His international experience is extensive, including managing solutions, applications, and engineering teams in Brazil, Belgium, Italy, and China in the telecom, transportation, and oil and gas sectors.

Jason Lee – Founder and CEO, SmartCone Technologies

Jason is an experienced, award winning entrepreneur, innovator, leader, and certified Business Coach with significant experience in business intelligence, lean manufacturing and knowledge management. He has worked in the military, aerospace, avionics, telecommunications, and Internet of Things manufacturing markets. His passion is to create a platform to help change the way we use and interact with technology, driven by the belief that technology can help us unlock our true potential so we can focus on being the best versions of ourselves.

Charlie Cheng of iSmartWays

Charlie Cheng – Business Development Manager, iSmartWays

Charlie Cheng is a young professional entrepreneur who has spent much of his time between Shanghai, China and Michigan, USA. He received an Economics Degree from Michigan State University and has extensive experience working with multinational corporations, governmental agencies, and consortiums with a focus on the automotive and transportation sectors. In his current role, Charlie seeks to expand iSmartWays presence as a V2X technology leader, globally.
